Iğdır, which stands out with its natural beauties, cultural richness and historical structure, is the first city in Türkiye, where the sun rises.

Iğdır and its surroundings have been used as settlements since at least 4,000 CE and have become home to many different civilizations throughout history. The city, which is the gateway to Anatolia, bears the traces of the Urartu, Assyrians, Cimmerians, Scythians, Persians, Macedonians, Eastern Romans, Seljuks, Mongols, and Ottomans.

Iğdır, which is located on the historical Silk Road, is a paradise on earth with its natural beauties and historical artefacts inherited throughout thousands of years of history.

Iğdır is like a hidden treasure, waiting to be discovered: its vast farmlands, the legendary Mount Ağrı (Ararat) (Ağrı Dağı), the Memorial Museum (Anıt Müze) that keeps social memory alive for all time, and the Aras River (Aras Nehri), which is the source of fertility, every corner of the city is welcoming. Iğdır is at the East of Çukurova, and world-famous for its agricultural products, grown on its fertile soils.

Iğdır is located at the foot of the legendary Mount Ağrı, which was the sanctuary for Prophet Noah’s Ark, and the place from where humans and animals spread across the world again.
